Federal dashboard

Follow federal outlays, recipients, and source coverage in one place.

GovMatrix now has a live federal foundation from Treasury and USAspending. This is still the first layer, but it already shows the top federal outlay picture, who is receiving major funds, and which datasets are driving the page.

What to focus on

Top budget read

Treasury YTD outlays are the strongest current federal anchor on this page. GovMatrix is using official Monthly Treasury Statement totals rather than a generated estimate.

Where the money is going

The largest current lines are coming from Treasury outlay tables and top federal recipients from USAspending, which makes this a stronger federal starting point than the older state-only rollup.

What still needs work

Agency justifications, award details, and cross-state recipient mapping still need to be connected before GovMatrix can tell a fuller federal spending story.

The state rollup still adds context

The older nationwide rollup still provides state-budget context: 50 states across FY2020-FY2027.
